The short version: by default, XIReel works locally in your browser. Your video files stay on your device and are not uploaded just to analyse a match. Optional account/cloud-sync features are clearly labelled in the app, only activate when you choose them, and sync your analysis data — never your video.
Match footage (video): processed entirely on your device. It is never transmitted to us or any third party.
Analysis data (teams, matches, tagged events, squads, player names you enter, clips and their annotations): stored locally in your browser's storage. If cloud sync is enabled on your account, your analysis workspace (excluding clip video files) is also stored in our database so you can access it from other devices.
Account data (cloud accounts only): your email address, display name, and a securely hashed password, held by our authentication provider, Supabase. We never see or store your plain-text password.
Feedback: only if you choose to send it — the feedback form opens your own email app; nothing is sent automatically.
What we don't do
No advertising, no ad trackers, no sale or sharing of your data with third parties for marketing.
No analytics scripts in the app at the time of writing.
No cookies beyond what is strictly necessary to keep you signed in (cloud accounts).
Where data is stored
Local data lives in your browser (localStorage and IndexedDB) on your device and can be wiped by you at any time by clearing site data. Cloud workspaces and account details are hosted with Supabase. The site itself is served by Netlify. These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account and workspace entirely. Email jamesedmond117@gmail.com and we'll action it within 30 days. You can also export everything yourself at any time from the app (Data → Exports → Backup) and delete local data by clearing your browser storage.
Data retention
Cloud workspaces are kept while your account exists and deleted when your account is deleted. We don't keep backups of deleted accounts beyond our provider's standard rolling backups (typically up to 30 days).
Children
XIReel is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll remove it.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll show a notice in the app. The "last updated" date above always reflects the current version.
